Colts at Titans Preview and Lines

The Colts and the Titans go head to head for a place in the playoffs on Sunday night in the final game of the NFL regular season. It has come down to the wire for both of these teams, and this final matchup should see every single player on both rosters giving it their all as they look to secure a trip to the post-season.

The one big talking point going into the game is Marcus Mariota, will he play or won't he? As we stand now, it seems increasingly unlikely that he will play, meaning the Titans will have to do this without their number one quarterback. Mariota has said that he will take to the field if there is any chance of him being able to play at all, and this is going to be a huge decision for the coaching staff to make on Sunday night.

The Titans come here on the back of four straight wins and it has been their defensive play that has come to the fore in those. They conceded 22 points to the New York Jets and 16 to the Washington Redskins but kept Jacksonville to just nine and kept the New York Giants off the scoreboard all together in a shutout. The Colts offer a greater test, but there is no doubt that the Titans defence is coming to play right now, and they could have a huge impact on the game.

The Colts come here on a three-game winning streak of their own, and although they are not really known for their defensive play, they did manage to shut out the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago in a 23-0 victory. The key man for them is TY Hilton, a player who has been dealing with injuries just like Marcus Mariota for the Titans. Hilton should play, and he has done in recent weeks despite injury concerns and there is no doubt that the star wide receiver is the best weapon that the Colts have on their team.

This is an incredibly tough game to call, and with everything on the line, we are going to see a game full of emotion from these teams. The call on whether Marcus Mariota will play is going to have a huge impact on the game, but regardless of that, I'm taking the Titans here. They have looked much better recently, winning four in a row, and their defence has been very impressive. That can be enough to get them over the line, but this one looks sure to be a close contest.
