Preakness Stakes at Bovada

After winning the Kentucky Derby it will come as no surprise as to where the money is going in the next big race, and of course California Chrome is the big favorite to win the Preakness Stakes. This will be the 139th running of this great race and the only thing that is concerning California Chrome's trainer Art Sherman is the fast turn around in race times, saying that he much prefers seven or eight weeks between races. That's not an option in the Triple Crown and if this thoroughbred wants to make it a double and win the second leg of the Triple Crown then a few weeks is the only rest available.

California Chrome is on a fantastic winning streak of five races and it's also in the Derby winners favor that the competition won't be looking as tough as it did just two weeks ago as runner up Commanding Curve will not be running and third placed Danza is also doubtful. This doesn't mean that Sherman's horse will have it all its own way however as a new host of contenders is ready and waiting and more than able to cause a surprise. Ria Antonia took the Breeders Cup Juvenile back in November however came in a disappointing 6th in her last outing and is way down in the odds, so maybe it will be down to Social Inclusion, Bayern or Kid Cruz to cause a stir and stop the huge favorite California Chrome who looks set to get out of the gates as the biggest favorite seen in the Preakness for some time.
