MLS Season Preview

The Major League Soccer season is ready to go and with that comes a huge amount of wagering opportunities. This is the 19th MLS season and it will kick off on March 8th when MLS Cup holders Sporting Kansas City take on the Seattle Sounders. There'll be 19 clubs involved all vying for the coveted trophy and there's been a number of changes since last year with plenty of managerial switches in closed season. Hyndman at Dalls, Klopas at Chicago Fire and Pareja at Colorado Rapids all resigned while Rennie at the Whitecaps and Schallibaum at Montreal were both fired. Pareja moves to Dallas and Kloppas will take over at Montreal, with Welshman Carl Robinson taking over at Vancouver. There have of course been many moves regarding players, many involving trades and of course via the draft however a few of the bigger moves involve Toronto with Bradley Orr coming in on loan from English team Blackburn Rovers, keeper Julio Cesar from QPR and arguably the biggest move of closed season seeing the ex England striker and Spurs fans favorite Jermain Defoe making the move from the North London club.

LA Galaxy have been placed as favorites to lift the MLS Cup and be crowned champions with Kansas not far behind at all. Many pundits are surprised to see that Portland have been rated at a 7/1 shot thinking that they have a little bit more than that to offer, and it's no surprise that New York Red Bulls are up there among the pack too. The big outsiders are Philadelphia Union and Chivas, with Toronto sitting just above the middle as far as the bookies are concerned. There are of course many more lines available to wager on and for your online betting this MLS season why not check out sign up to Bovada.
