Spurs Face Daunting Trip to Cleveland to Take on Cavs

Both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs have been fascinating to watch in recent weeks, both have had their troubles and tried to fix them in different ways. After struggling in 2018, the Cavs have won their last four, mainly thanks to the changes they made at the trade deadline, to take them to 7-3 in their ten games before the all-star break. They have looked much better after the changes, and traditionally come to life after the all-star game, so don’t be surprised to see even further improvement from them going forward and you can bet this game and all NBA match ups at Bovada.

The San Antonio Spurs have faced the same problems as Cleveland, but they chose to do nothing at the deadline, and hope their current squad can dig them out of their hole. They are missing their two best players right now, Kawhi Leonard and Rudy Gay, without those they appear to be struggling. However, the management team decided to allow their current players the chance to play, instead of making a move to bring in help at the deadline, we will wait and see if that was the right decision or not. A record of 4-6 before the all-star break is something they must improve on, otherwise, they will not hold onto 3rd place in the west for much longer.

There has been an abundance of new players arrive in Cleveland and the early signs are that they have gelled together very well. The four games they played before the all-star break with their new players all resulted in wins, including a very comfortable win in Boston, where the Celtics are one of their challengers in the east. It remains to be seen if they can keep up their play, especially as the all-star break came at a time when they would have preferred to stay together and keep playing.

I am going to assume that the Cavs continue their traditional push in February and March, and they have a great opportunity against a struggling Spurs team. They really could have done with some help at the deadline but didn’t get any so it is up to the players they have that are fit and available to work out how they are going to improve.

The Spurs are in a little bit of trouble, and for that reason, I expect to see the Cavs win this meeting comfortably on Sunday.
