Struggling Spurs Could Fall Even Further in Rankings

The San Antonio Spurs have not performed well enough this season, and with further problems ahead for them, they could find themselves dropping down the Western Conference standings. The Spurs should be up in 3rd, with a playoff spot assured but instead they are slowly falling down the table. That fall has only taken them to 4th place for now, but another loss could see them drop down into 7th place, which would be hugely disappointing for them and you can bet on their game with the Lakers both in play and before the action starts at Bovada.

Kawhi Leonard continues to stay on the sidelines for them, something they simply cannot afford. He is a hugely talented individual, and someone they are desperate to see back on the court sooner rather than later. The Spurs have the toughest run-in of any team in the NBA, so his return is vital, otherwise, this season is going to end on a disappointing note. Their last ten games have seen them win just three, and on that form, there is a slim chance they fall out of the playoffs altogether.

The Los Angeles Lakers are outsiders for a playoff spot right now, but a good end to the season would push them close. They have been in winning form recently, and have a positive record, which is more than can be said for the Spurs. If they really are to make the playoffs, winning tough games like this one is a must for them, however difficult it may be going into San Antonio.

This team promises to be a very intriguing matchup, both teams are desperate for the win, but only the Lakers are playing with any kind of form and consistency right now. Pressure is mounting on the Spurs to perform, but they don’t appear to be capable of that right now, and they are in desperate need of Kawhi Leonard returning and running the show.

This will be tight, but a surprise looks possible here, and with the way the Spurs have played in recent weeks, I am more than happy to side with the Los Angeles Lakers. They shouldn’t have the strength to go into San Antonio and win, but they are playing the Spurs are exactly the right time, and that could be enough to see them win this one. The margin isn’t likely to be a big one, so I will take the Lakers to win this one by less than six points.
