49ers at Packers Preview

The start to the season so far for Green Bay can only be described as ‘stop-start’. We have seen glimpses, but nothing more than that, and with injury concerns to various members of the team including quarterback Aaron Rodgers, there is always the feeling that bad news or a bad performance could be just around the corner. Maybe this will be that game, a matchup that you can wager on pre kick off and live in play at Bovada.

However, to be perfectly honest, the San Fransisco 49ers fans out there would probably kill for the start that the Packers have had so far. An injury to starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has forced them into moving CJ Beathard to the starting position, and while he didn’t fare too badly last weekend, the 49ers did fall to their fourth defeat from their opening five games. Without a starting quarterback on the team, an injury to impressive running back Matt Breida, and a lack of a genuine receiver on the team there is little to be optimistic about right now for fans of the team.

One thing the team does have is determination and courage. They certainly won’t go down without a fight on Monday night when they travel to Green Bay. They led 14-0 and 17-6 against the Chargers last week, but failed to get over the line, something which they can’t think about too much in this one.

Despite an injury early this season, Aaron Rodgers has battled on and has thrown for over 1500 yards, showing just the quality he has. In the past his relationship has looked strong with Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson but now it is the turn of Devante Adams to come to the fore and take advantage of his rapport with Rodgers. He has over 400 yards already this season, and look to be the new ‘go-to’ guy for Rodgers. On the ground, hopes rest on the shoulders of Aaron Jones, who was suspended at the start of the season but is back now looking to make a name for himself when the Packers run the ball from time to time.

The Green Bay Packers are not a team to trust fully in the NFL, and they will have their bad periods of play. However, this game represents an ideal opportunity to pick up a win against a 49ers team that has simply nothing going for them right now. This should turn out to be a comfortable victory for Aaron Rodgers and his team on Monday night.
