Jazz Can Run Warriors Close on Sunday Night

The Utah Jazz has come to life in recent weeks as they fight for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Right now, they are in, although this is still a tight run thing and they could find themselves back out again over the weekend. They head to face the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, a team that has been struggling a little recently, but obviously a very dangerous opponent. The Warriors looked like chasing down the Houston Rockets not too long ago, but now it looks like the Rockets will win the Western Conference. The problem we have seen with the Warriors in recent weeks has been their consistency. They haven’t been able to deliver night in night out, something you need to do at the business end of the season. The Utah Jazz has done exactly that, going on a great streak to pull themselves into playoff contention. Right now, the odds are in their favour and it looks as though the Jazz will make it in, although it is extremely tight around the final seed positions. While the Warriors are a far better team on their day than the Jazz, and they have home court advantage here, I am backing the Jazz to run them very close. They have been playing very well recently, and will go into the game full of confidence and looking to spring a surprise. I don’t think the Jazz will quite do it, but they will run the Warriors close and would be of interest receiving points start on the handicap betting markets. I am not confident enough in the Warriors to back them to win, but I do think they will scrape through, winning by 1-4 points. That would make Utah interesting on the handicap because I expect them to get around an eight-point start when the markets are released. The Jazz has a lot more to play for right now, but I think they will just fall short of beating the Warriors on Sunday night. The Warriors have not been playing with enough consistency, but on their day they are better than the Jazz, even though we have seen a big upturn in form from the visitors. This looks sure to be a very close game, and I am going to go with Golden State winning it by a small margin, but from a betting point of view, Utah on the handicap receiving a start is the way to go.
