Thursday Night Football Double Header

A Thursday night football double header happens but a few times a year and for those who love a little NFL online betting it makes for a great evenings entertainment. Bovada sports have the lines up and ready on the Eagles Vs Lions and Panthers Vs Cowboys games, and it’s a Thursday night of football that could prove to be a pivotal one.

The Cowboys are back in business or should we say that Romo is back in business as he inspired the Dallas Cowboys to their first win since September as they beat Miami Dolphins 24-14 on the road. That puts a stop to 7 straight losses for the Cowboys and a win on Thursday night would have more than a few people believing that he can lead them to a playoff place. It was by no means an outstanding performance by Romo but the fact that the bad run has been halted combined with the fact that there’s no team in the NFC East who are running away with it, means that there’s hope, however against Cam Newton and the in form and seemingly unstoppable Carolina Panthers they’ll need more than just hope.

Newton and the speedy Panthers offence take some stopping and it doesn't help when you’re giving them penalty yards galore and although the game looked like it could swing either way at one stage, it was but a brief stage, as the Panthers exerted their dominance in all departments against Washington on Sunday. Dallas will host the Panthers on Thursday night, and there is no real points spread to talk of, as the bookies over at Bovada have the Cowboys as just the 1 point favorites, with the total for that game standing at 46.5.

In the earlier game on Thursday, the Eagles will travel to meet the Detroit Lions and again there’s just the 1 point spread, this time in favor of the Eagles, who lost at home to Tampa Bay 45-17 last time out. Detroit managed to beat the Oakland Raiders in their last game, with an unconvincing 13-18 scoreline, but a win, is indeed a win, and that’s what they’ll be hoping for on Thursday night.
