Flying Eagles can Soar Past Skins

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises this season has been how well the Philadelphia Eagles have played. They are currently 5-1, with the joint best record in the league after the Kansas City Chiefs lost their unbeaten run last weekend. After their start, they have put themselves in a great position to win the division and their nearest rivals for that title, the Washington Redskins, are the visitors on Monday night. The game is of course live on TV and you can wager your way through the action in-play at Bovada Sports, as well as betting pre kick off.

The Redskins aren’t doing too bad themselves, they have a 3-2 record, although if they want to win the division then they will have to be better, to match the play of the Eagles.

The biggest reason why the Eagles have started so well has been Carson Wentz. He looked ok last season, and clearly has potential, but no one expected him to bring the game he has done to the table this season. With 13 touchdowns and nearly 1600 throwing yards, he has thrown the same amount of touchdowns as Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Should this continue then maybe the Eagles do finally have the franchise quarterback they have been craving for years.

On the other side of the field is Kirk Cousins, who had a long dispute over the summer with the Redskins regarding his contract. He looks to be the quarterback that they want, but they don’t seem to want to pay him what he deserves. He has thrown nine touchdowns this season, and thrown for over 1300 yards so his numbers are good so far, without being elite.

Alongside some great play from Wentz, the Eagles have also seen their receivers catch a lot of passes. Zach Ertz and Nelson Agholor lead the team with four touchdowns each and Agholor especially has been a welcome surprise for the team, after showing so much promise but struggling in recent years.

While there is nothing to be down about if you are a Redskins fan just yet, it looks unlikely that they will be able to keep up with the Eagles this season. The Eagles are favourites to win this game, something I think they will do and that would put plenty of daylight between these two teams in the race for the division title.

I think the Eagles have this one, and can continue their impressive start by beating the Washington Redskins fairly comfortably in what is an important divisional game.
