Eagles Can Win Important NFC East Matchup

The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the best stories from this season in the NFL and they can win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, to take them one step closer to the NFC East title. Many thought the NFC East would be highly competitive this season but so far the Eagles have turned it into a procession. Their nearest rivals are the Cowboys, but an Eagles win on Sunday night would all but knock them out of contention.

The Eagles return from their bye week last weekend, looking to add to their record of 8-1, which includes winning their last seven games. Their last victory came against the Denver Broncos when they scored 51 points against what is supposedly one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, not on that showing they aren’t. Take nothing away from the Eagles though, they were clinical throughout and kept the Denver offence at bay for most of the game.

The Dallas Cowboys had their bye week in week six and came back to win three straight games against San Francisco, Washington and Kansas. However, that run came to an end last week when they were convincingly beaten 27-7 by the Atlanta Falcons. They are in the playoff hunt but know that wins are very important and they have to find a way to claw back the Eagles this Sunday.

The one matchup that people are going to talk about in the build-up to this one is the battle of the quarterbacks. Carson Wentz has come to life this year and has really excelled in Philadelphia throwing 23 touchdowns and over 2200 yards. Dak Prescott burst onto the scene last year but has still performed very well this season, and he is closing in on the 2000 yard mark. He has thrown for 16 touchdowns and scored a further five of his own which is another side to his very impressive skill set.

This is certainly the game of the weekend in the NFL and everyone will want to watch how these two fight it out. Another win would take Philadelphia one step closer to the NFC East title, and the Cowboys will know that and be fighting for their lives. Watch out for the battle of the quarterback, which should be fantastic to watch as we have two of the best young players in the game going head to head. With them coming here off their bye week and in great form, it is impossible to oppose the Philadelphia Eagles and they look to have a great chance of winning this one.
