On paper, the most exciting NFL matchup this weekend looks to be the game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Green Bay Packers. Both teams have elite offences, led by star quarterbacks and it is going to be a fascinating, high scoring game that the neutrals are going to love.
The two quarterbacks will go into the game under pressure, knowing they need to keep up with their opposing man. That pressure will no doubt lead to great performances from Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers, who both thrive in the situation they are going to find themselves in on Sunday night.
When you look at the receivers lining up for both teams, it is easy to see why the two quarterbacks have had recent success. Rodgers has weapons to throw to like Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Devante Adams. Those three are as good as any in the league and reap the rewards sent to them by Rodgers. Matt Ryan has an equally impressive unit, with Julio Jones leading the attack and Mohamed Sanu and Taylor Gabriel providing solid backup.
Those two receiving units are probably going to cancel each other out unless one player has a remarkable game and it is elsewhere I believe the game will be won. The one thing that gives Atlanta the edge in this one is their running game, which is better than Green Bay’s and something I don’t think the Green Bay defensive line can cope with. They have a two-pronged attack with Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman both outstanding options for when the Falcons want to play on the floor. Both have the ability to catch the ball too, which gives the Falcons an additional receiver if they need it.
This game is sure to be a great watch for the neutrals and is my game of the weekend. Both teams have the ability to put huge points on the board, but with a great rushing attack to back up the receivers they have, I am backing Atlanta to win the game. Aaron Rodgers has many weapons available to him, but I am backing the overall team performance from Atlanta to win the day and give them their second win of the season as they look for back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.
This game takes place on Sunday night and is set to be a cracker.
