Chicago Bears Vs Seahawks Preview

The Chicago Bears threw away a huge lead against their rivals the Green Bay Packers last weekend and that is sure to have hurt the players. They return home this weekend to take on the Seattle Seahawks and will we once again see the promise they showed in the first half of their game against the Packers, or will we see the disappointing performance of the second half? The Seahawks also come here chasing their first win of the season after a loss in Denver on week one of the season, they played fairly well in parts, but they need to show more if they want to contend this season. At one point last weekend the Bears were 20-0 up and out of sight against the Packers, or at least they should have been. The first half was near perfect from them on both sides of the football, with good offensive play putting points on the board and their talented defensive unit stopping the Packers from gaining any momentum. The game changed dramatically though, and mistakes crept into their game during the second half, something that helped the Packers fight their way back. A big response is needed in front of their home fans this weekend, can they give it?

While the Seahawks didn’t fare too badly against the Broncos during their season opener, they didn’t take advantage of the mistakes made by the Broncos in a game they could have won. Defensively the Seahawks weren’t at their best either, something they will certainly be working on this week in the build up to their games against the Bears. Russell Wilson leads this team, but he doesn’t have too many weapons around him so he needs his defensive players to stop the opposition from scoring and keep the game tight.

The Bears owe their fans after last week’s capitulation against their rivals the Packers and I think they are going to bounce back in a positive way here. We saw signs that this young Bears team is coming together nicely and it would be great to see those signs once again this weekend. Defensively they are very strong and they can limit the scoring opportunities that the Seahawks have, which will be enough for them to win the game. I don’t think there will be too much in it, and this looks set to be low scoring, but I favour the Bears to win the game.
